Kearny is a Gateway City for The Arizona National Scenic Trail which stretches 800 miles across the entire length of the state to connect deserts, mountains, forests, canyons, wilderness, history, communities and people. This non-motorized trail showcases Arizona's diverse vegetation, wildlife and scenery, as well as unique historic and cultural sites. The route provides unparalleled opportunities for hikers, mountain bikers, equestrians and other trail users. Our Inn is a designated package delivery spot for Hikers on the Trail. If you call us we can arrange for a pickup at the closest point so you can spend a while rejuvenating while you wash off the trail dust! You can also arrange to have care packages shipped to us.

​If your into Bird Watching we are the closest Inn to the confluence of the San Pedro and Gila Rivers which is a prime Birding area. In Fact, 52% of all the migratory neo-tropical birds in the hemisphere travel up and down the San Pedro river each year.  It is a world renowned birding area right outside our door.  The Gila River at Kearny has the largest population of nesting Southwestern Willow Flycatchers in the world. It is also home to the endangered Yellow Billed Cuckoo.

​​We hate to Brag but, we think we have some of the most spectacular scenery in Arizona right outside our door! There are hiking/biking trails, HOV trails, not to mention a river that is perfect for kayaking. There is so much to see and do in our little part of the World! 

Hike the Aravaipa Wilderness Area which is about thirty minutes from your room! Aravaipa is famed as a birdwatcher's paradise. Nearly every type of desert songbird is found here, with more than 150 species documented in the wilderness. Saguaro and other cacti grow on Aravaipa's rocky ledges, providing nest sites for small owls, woodpeckers, and other desert birds. Mesquite-covered grassy flats furnish cover for abundant birdlife on the canyon floor.  It is also home to Coatamundi, Big Horned Sheep, Mountain Lions, Bears, Mule and White Tailed deer, and countless other desert critters. You might even see up to three species of rattlesnake there. We can help arrange permits for you if you would like.
